Ms. Lam received her training in Chinese dance
from some of China's top teachers from the prestigious
Beijing Dance Academy.
She also studied ballet under Svea Eklof,
former prima ballerina of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet,
and modern dance under Robert Derosiers,
internationally known dance wizard.
She is a certified senior teacher of the
Beijing Dance Academy Chinese Dance Examination
Syllabus, and a member of the Advisory Board of
the Kiwanis Dance Festival of Toronto.
Ms. Lam also holds Honours co-op degrees in Mathematics for
Computer Science, and for Combinatorics & Optimization, from the
University of Waterloo.
Over the years, Ms. Lam has devoted much
of her time in promoting the Chinese dance
art form in Canada. As a performer, Ms. Lam performed
in cities across Canada and US. As a choreographer, she
created dances for television and pop stars in concerts
such as Teresa Cheung. As an artistic director, she has
choreographed and directed over 20 full-length dance productions,
and adjudicated at festivals.
Ms. Lam has also taught Chinese dance classes for the
Toronto, and the Peel Region District School Board.
She frequently collaborates with other Canadian artists
in multi-disciplinary, multi-media projects.
